My advice for all you incoming Freshman coming into Journalism Class for the 2018-19 year is to always try to have your work in on or before the deadline or due dates. If you are going to goof around, make sure you have all of your work done. Take the notes Ms.Carranza gives you at the start of the school year. They’re going to be useful for you later on. Do the best you can to make sure you don’t have any missing work. The reason you need to keep up with the deadlines of your work is because you don’t want to fall behind. Even though Journalism is just an elective, it is still a credit you’re going to need in order to graduate. Also, you don’t want to put unnecessary stress on yourself when your trying to get caught up, especially if you have other more important classes to worry about. Meeting deadlines is crucial not only in this class, but almost every other class when your in high school. Another thing to be successful in this class is taking and keeping the notes she gives you at the start of the school year. This is because you’re going to need them when she has you start writing articles around October. The notes are also useful in the other classes you have because they teach you a lot about how to write correctly using commas, sentence structures, and other things many of us struggle with. Last but not least, make sure you complete any missing/late work. Like I said before, protect your work at all times. You don’t want to dig yourself into a hole. If you want to be in sports or other activities, they’re going to look at all your grades. This is an easy class with simple work, so it should be easy for you to keep up. Being productive in class prevents a lot of future stress. If you want to be successful in this class you should follow these rules. Respect and know and get work in for the deadlines. Keep and try the best you can to memorize the notes she gives you in the beginning of the year. Also, last but not least, always keep in mind to never have any late or missing work.
