Cheerleaders are the best way to incorporate school spirit and create enthusiasm at sporting events. This year the school will be reinstating their cheer leading team after having a one-year hiatus. The dance team replaced the cheerleaders at pep rallies, assemblies, and sporting events. However, next school year the cheer leading team will go back to encouraging school spirit at all these events.
Tryouts for the varsity team have taken place and the new team has been created. Some returning cheerleaders are ready to get back into the action. All the cheerleaders are excited to bring back the team and once again be able to represent the school. “I am so excited to bring the team back” Says, sophomore cheerleader Saiyon Stone. Her goals for next school year are to work on her backflip, be the best, and work hard for success. Tajane Davis would like to get her moves sharper, learn all the cheers, and she states that “whatever happens, happens” Tajane would like to leave a legacy for Eldorado as well as tall the other cheerleaders. Some obstacles the team would have to overcome are working together as a brand new team and having to start over with everything. In total there are 19 cheerleaders that will be on the Varsity team showing off their cheers, tumbling routines, and their talent. The cheer coach Ms. Frost hopes to eventually have the team compete in National events, but for now they will compete in State competitions.Ms.Frost will also promote school spirit by including school citizenship within the cheer team. Overall the school, administration, and all the new cheerleaders are very excited to be able to have a cheer team once again. Everyone hopes for the best for this new team and expect a big difference in school spirit during the next school year.
