Posted: December 15, 2017 Computers are starting to become a huge part of our Eldorado community. With the growth of computers being used, people like Alan Guerrero-Herrera are starting to build their own. Alan has been helping Mr. Rendon build a computer for his class, “Mr. Rendon wants to use it for the professional version Unity so students will have a powerful computer to upoffload their projects.”Alan said. Alan can be found in room 812 on Fridays after school, working on the computer. Alan describes the process as fun., hHe said, “It’s always a learning experience since I usually make a mistake or two every time, but the more I keep doing it just gets more and more comfortable.” Currently no one is helping him, but there was a student who had helped him last year. Alan does more of the heavy work., Mr. Rendon instructs and guides Alan. Alan does hope to find more people though, saying, “We’re going to try to find more people but for right now I'm doing mostly everything.” Alan and Mr. Rendon are using two top of the line graphics cards a 16 core processor and 64 gigabytes of ram which come from school funding. Alan compares building the computer to legos saying, “The simplest way Ii can describe it is very technical legos. I don't have to solder anything, I don’t weld anything, it's just putting everything together, making sure it works, Kknowing where each wire goes and what it's supposed to do.” Another way he described it was a puzzle with a learning curve and knowing which parts are compatible to each other and making sure the computer will even turn on. Alan added that he loves building computers and technology in general.
