By: Zoie Clements, Posted February 14, 2017 Have you ever doubted the things you’ve been told or heard throughout your life? That maybe things aren’t quite as they seem? Then the Conspiracy Theory Club might just be for you!
Senior Dezi Staley is in charge of the club and meetings are held after school on Fridays from 2:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. in room 212. The club’s main focus is on Celebrity, Illuminati, and Mandela Effect conspiracies. Open discussions are held and fellow club members talk about their thoughts on different conspiracies. What is a conspiracy theory, though? Conspiracy or to conspire means a secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. A theory, in this context, means an idea used to account for a situation or justify a course of action. When put together, a conspiracy theory is an idea that some covert, but influential organization is responsible for a circumstance or event. Some common, but controversial conspiracies include 9/11, the JFK assassination, the reptile elite, moon landing, etc. All of which attempt to explain and provide other evidence for certain events. Most conspiracies are about the government and its involvement in our lives. Many conspiracy theorists believe that the government is trying to condition us for a New World Order controlled by none other than the Illuminati. They also believe that celebrities and politicians are all a part of this elaborate scheme. If you’d like to learn more or if you have some theories of your own, be sure to join Conspiracy Theory Club or see sponsor in room 212.
