By: Zoie Clements, Posted: April 7, 2017 Towards the end of each school year comes a saving grace, with limited time off from January to April it couldn’t come soon enough. Spring break! A very common way to enjoy these numbered days is by embarking on a road trip.
Anywhere the wind takes you, ( before you need more gas of course), is game. Living in Las Vegas, you don’t have to travel far to reach some desireable locations. Arizona, for instance, is full of many great places to relax and have fun; some of these include Monument Valley, Hoover Dam, and none other than the Grand Canyon. Utah is also home to many fun places; The Great Salt Lake and Zion National Park to name a few. If neither of these are to your taste, try California. Some of the most beautiful and picturesque beaches await and of course who could forget, Disneyland! Haley Hamill, 11, said “If I could go on a road trip I’d like to go to Montana. It’s really pretty and my grandparents live there.” Orlando Meji, 12, said “This spring break I’m going to Los Angeles. I want to go just to get out of Vegas and to try to food there.” However, even the most fun of road trips can become mundane and leave everyone feeling horrible when you’re hungry. So, in order to prevent this tragedy, don’t forget the snacks! Picking the right snacks can make all the difference in your travels. Never take anything you need to keep cold for long periods or food that is easily perishable. Instead, why not something sweet like candy or Oreos, or maybe savory like crackers or chips? Of course it goes without saying, many people love road trips simply because they enjoy traveling no matter where it may be. Half the fun is getting there.
